Mentors (Individual and Married Couples): Mentoring is serving as a trusted counselor or teacher to another person. Mentors create change by offering true life-on-life impact. Due to the nature of this position, we require you make a 6 to 14 month commitment and be interviewed by the Advisory Board so we can match you with the best candidate.  (No male individual mentors.)  Qualifications are: member of First Orlando or Hope Church, 2 letters of recommendation (1 from a pastor, approved by Advisory Board), and high level of commitment.

Respite Care Workers: Provide supervision and overnight/weekend care, support and supervision for the Lydia House ladies. The respite workers will cover when the House Mom is off-duty.

Morning and Evening Care: Provide supervision and care for a few hours in the morning or evening. We are looking for women to serve from 7:30am-9am and 2:30pm-6pm.

Cosmetologists: Serve the ladies of Lydia House with haircuts, manicures, pedicures or by teaching make-up techniques.

Encouragers: Serve by sending a hand-written postcard to each lady at Lydia House, spend time at Lydia House with the ladies, or make a phone call just to say Hi.

Prayer Warriors: Pray for Lydia House, but also for each of the ladies in the program, the volunteers and leaders of Lydia House.

Transportation Assistance: Transportation assistance is needed for the residents of Lydia House. At times, ladies will need a ride to work, the doctor or another scheduled appointment.

LIFE Group Service Opportunities:

Food & Fellowship: LIFE Groups can come to Lydia House as a class, prepare a meal and have a time of fellowship with the ladies.

Save Your Change for Change: LIFE Groups can donate their spare change to Lydia House.

Food Drive: LIFE Groups can serve Lydia House by sponsoring a food drive.

Clear Your Clutter: LIFE Groups can support Lydia House by holding a Clear Your Clutter campaign. Make donations of gently used items to the thrift store.
