What We Offer

Lydia House is a 12-to-18 month program where women are given the opportunity to begin a new life. During their stay at Lydia House, women will grow spiritually, receive professional counseling, discover their spiritual gifts, aquire job training, develop healty relationships and learn life-management skills.

Our Program

Our program is developed to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each of the women that call Lydia House their home. Our program meets these needs through a varity of services and teachings.

  • Physical Needs: We provide shelter, clothing and food. We also meet their medical needs with the assistance of Grace Medical.
  • Emotional Needs: Individual counseling weekly and relapse prevention training.
  • Spiritual Needs: We begin with a daily devotional, Jesus Calling. We also provide additional learning opportunities through Biblical teaching DVDs with life application group discussion.  LIFE Group participation is required at either First Baptist Orlando or Hope Church. Our ladies attend Celebrate Recovery each Tuesday night.
  • Life Skill Lessons: Apples of Gold, Food & Nutrition Training each week, Spiritual Gift Testing, Relationship Skills Training, Manners classes, Personal Attire Assesments and Participation in JobsPartnership.


  • Lord Heal My Hurts

  • Celebrate Recovery Step Study
    • Celebrate Recovery®, is a Purpose-Driven and balanced program that can help you overcome your hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Based on the Beatitudes from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, it is the first ever recovery curriculum that’s distinctly Christian, uncompromisingly biblical and designed especially for churches.
    • Stepping Out of Denial into God’s Grace is participant’s guide #1 and covers lessons 1-6 of the Celebrate Recovery program.
    • Taking an Honest and Spiritual Inventory is participant’s guide #2 and covers lessons 7-11 of the Celebrate Recovery program.
    • Getting Right with God, Yourself, and Others Is participant’s guide #3 and covers lessons 12-18 of the Celebrate Recovery®program.
    • Growing in Christ While Helping Others is participant’s guide #4 and covers lessons 19-25 of the Celebrate Recovery®program.
  • Jobs Partnership
    • The Jobs Partnership applies an innovative approach to workforce development that provides a lasting solution to the challenges of insecurity, low self-esteem, and inconsistent work ethic in today’s workplace. The success of this unique Affinity Model of Shared Benefits’ comes by training people and building strategic relationships.
    • Jobs Partnership trains people on work-relevant Biblical principles that result in much more than just exposure to strategies for success. Students experience changes of heart that improve both their performance and their attitudes towards work. In short, they learn to put the American work ethic into practice.
    • Jobs Partnership builds relationships with businesses, local churches, and other community resources that build bridges to equip, empower, and employ people – motivating them to reach their God-given potential.
  • Personal Financial Training
    • Through a partnership with Sun Trust’s, Women’s Affinity Council, students are lead basic personal finance training. Key areas taught are:

  • Safe People
    • Do your “people connections” lift you up or drag you down? If you often make “wrong” choices in love, work, or friendships, you can learn to find people who are good for you! Cloud and Townsend identify traits of untrustworthy people, offer practical strategies for forming healthy associations, and reveal things about yourself that jeopardize relationships.
  • Boundaries
    • This best seller, by Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend, delivers biblically based methods on how to set healthy limits with a parent, spouse, child, friend, co-worker and even yourself while still being a loving person. It will leave you feeling empowered without guilt or fear.
  • Starting Point
    • Starting Point is a conversational environment where people can explore faith and experience community. Starting Point groups are a safe place for people with questions about faith, as well as those who want to learn about the Bible and Christianity.
    • Groups meet for about 10 weeks and together explore the grand story of the Bible. One of the goals of Starting Point is to help participants find their places in the story
